Deann Bishop holds a Bachelor of Science degree in International Studies from The American University in Washington DC; a Master’s of Science in Oriental Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College in Santa Fe, New Mexico; and Diplomates in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology – 2001.
She has been Virginia Board-certified and in private clinical practice in the Roanoke Virginia area since 2001. She also co-founded, owned and operated two community acupuncture clinics from 2011-2019.
Deann has studied the Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy method for over 20 years and is a Certified Hakomi Practitioner. She also has extensive training in AromaAcuPoint therapy, Shaitsu, Medical QiGong and has studied within the traditions of TCM ZangFu, Five Element, Master Tan Balance Method, Classical Chinese Herb and Clinical Integration schools.
She is the lead course instructor and Director of the Chinese Herbal Medicine program at Lotus Professional College.
