Melonie Burgess holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from The University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ; a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine from East West College of Natural Medicine in Sarasota, Florida; and Diplomates in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology-2003.
Melonie is a Florida Licensed Acupuncture Physician. She currently practices at Bridge Community Acupuncture in Largo, Florida. She co-founded and co-operated Sarasota Community Acupuncture from 2008-2018, in Sarasota, Florida. She previously lived in Roanoke, Virginia, from 2003-2006, where she practiced for 3 years with Dr. Deann Bishop. Melonie has been a long-time practitioner of, and advocate for, community style acupuncture. She strongly believes in the accessibility of acupuncture for everyone.
After giving birth to her son, at home with a midwife in 2008, she developed a special love for treating pregnancy and birth preparation. She is teaching and assisting Dr. Deann Bishop with the Chinese Herbal Medicine program at Lotus Professional College.
